Just for Parents...

Sometimes seniors aren't as excited about getting their portrait done as the parents are.  Perhaps it’s just a sign of the times, but kids just don't think as far in advance as parents do.

They're more worried about what pictures they have on their cell phones and their Facebook account and less worried about what their parents have hanging on the living room wall for the next 20 years.

The good news is that we can get both the kind of pictures that you'll treasure for the rest of your life as well as pictures that they'll be excited to exchange with their friends.

That’ll take magic you say?  Surprisingly, it's not that hard to get portraits that meet both of your needs.  All it takes is a little planning, and a little cooperation from both you and your kids.

Here's some of the questions we hear all the time and our responses:

My son doesn’t want his picture taken at all. What do I do?

  • The first thing to do is have him come in for free no-obligation design consultation.  You should come along, too.  We'll show you some exciting music videos of other seniors we've done and he'll see, no doubt, how much fun others have had.
  • Additionally, we would recommend that he have a good deal of his portraits done outdoors or choose one of our sessions called street scenes which would give you pictures with a real relaxed, urban look to them.  They're really pretty cool.

We can’t spend a lot on pictures. All we want are some simple pictures and a few things for to pass out to family & friends. Can we do something like that?

  • Absolutely!  At Haas photography there's no minimums and no maximums. You can order exactly what you want at any time.  You've probably heard stories about people spending a young fortune on their senior pictures.  There's a reason for that.  Many parents realize this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for their seniors and they spare no expense.  On the other hand, we photographed a good number of seniors each year who are on a very limited budget but still realize the value of going to a professional photographer.  Some of the seniors spend as little as $200 - $300 but end up with portraits that both they and their parents will cherish for the rest of their lives.

Our daughter wants pictures that are really different than her older brothers and sisters. But I want her pictures to kind of match the other ones when I hang them on our wall. What can we do?

  • Naturally, over time, styles change.  The biggest changes usually occur in hairstyles and clothing styles.  So if there are more than even a couple years between the kids in your family you'll probably end up with portraits that have a little different look to them.  And that's okay.
  • The important thing is that we do a variety of poses for you so that you both end up with what you want.  Some a little more traditional.  Some a little more contemporary.  Everybody wins!

My son never dresses up but I really want him to for his senior pictures and it’s causing a big argument. What do you recommend?

  • Again the biggest thing here is to get some variety in the session. If you let him dress the way he wants for his poses, he'll probably agree to dress the way you want for your poses.
  • Everybody’s happy. Imagine that.
You can't put a value on senior portraits. This was my first experience and I’m sure I would come back.  Excellent quality and choices.  There were so many good portraits it made the final decision very difficult.  A very good job at going through all of the photos before we left. Can’t put a value on these portraits. They are priceless.  --Susan Selje-Columbus

Lots of seniors, especially guys, are looking for a more serious, contemporary look. Don't tell them, but we'll make sure that we get plenty of smiles for you, too.

My daughter felt special. We had seen other senior pictures done by Haas and were impressed with quality.  It was a wonderful experience and I know my daughter felt comfortable and special.  Customer Serivce was outstanding. --Bonnie Hertel-Watertown
